"I'm always trying out new headphones because for me it's not only about the sound quality and the value for the dollar but I have to have something that looks sleek, modern, and cool. The Audio-Technica ATH-M40x is a beauty. Not only does it look great but the performance is pretty good for the price. You can find this set for under a $100 bucks but this headset has some good features. I would say it is the perfect balance of sound quality. It has good bass and the middles and highs are pretty decent too, not bad sound clarity at all. So far it feels very durable and the materials seem top notch. I've been wearing these daily for my mixing and I'm always comfortable at the end of the night."

A nice 80-100 dollar set of cans are going to beat these out, and they should considering they'd be nearly double the price. If 100 is your limit go for something a little bigger and more full-featured."

"Compared to the more expensive model these are quality headphones. I have to say they are not top of the line but they are mid tier. Mid tear is enough for what you are going to be using them for anyway. I do not think that most people who buy these are audiophiles. There are the more expensive models if you are looking to use them for that basis."
